According to the company’s blog post, the new functionality is being tested with a select number of creators. Meta claims that by providing the monetization option, it hopes to enable creators to make a living and for customers to be able to buy digital goods, services, and experiences.
According to a blog post of Meta,
“The metaverse will provide a new level of creativity and open up new opportunities for the next generation of individuals and entrepreneurs to pursue their hobbies and establish livelihoods because it is not limited by physical location, creators and entrepreneurs would have more choice to develop a business strategy that works for them.”
Meta also stated that the $10 million Horizon Creators Fund, established in October of last year, would be expanded so that creators can make money in the metaverse. The firm has used it to supply resources to Horizon Worlds’ creators. Meta stated that it would continue to collaborate closely with the creators, test new features, and take comments into account.
