On Thursday, Tesla boss Elon Musk announced that its company is going to build a “dedicated” self-driving taxi called robotaxi that is going to “look futuristic.”However, he did not give any information about the timeframe.
He further made the remarks at the opening of $1.1 billion factories of Tesla inTexas wearing a black cowboy hat and sunglasses. This is home to its latest headquarters.
Musk informed a large audience at the factory,
“Massive scale. Full self-driving. There’s going to be a dedicated robotaxi.”
However, Musk has failed his target of full autonomy many times. He reported back in 2019 that robotaxis with no human drivers would be accessible in a couple of U.S. markets in 2020. However, he stated in January that he would be “shocked” if his company did not be able to deliver a complete self-driving that is more secure as compared to humans this year.
