Meta’s own instant messaging platform is launching a new privacy feature for its iOS users. This privacy feature is going to make its users able to hide the “Last Seen” status from certain contacts.
Android beta users are already utilizing this privacy option. However, now the company is allowing its iOS beta users to use this feature, as per the report issued by WebBetaInfo. So, if you are one of them who have signed up for the beta program, you can use the privacy option.
This is a very convenient WhatsApp feature for those people who just need to hide their “Last Seen” from specific people. Sometimes users don’t want to show their last seen status to certain people. For the time being, there are only three options to hide Last Seen from your contact.
WhatsApp’s first option is Everyone. When you will enable this option your Last Seen is going to be visible to everyone. The second WhatApp option is My Contacts, which is going to make your Last Seen visible to only those whose number you have saved in your smartphone’s address book.
The third option is ”Nobody” which indicates that if you don’t wich anyone to see your Last Seen, this is the perfect option for you.
According to reports, WhatsApp is further working on another option called ‘My Contacts except’. This option will make users able to hide last seen from specific people. Reports further stated that this option is still under the testing phase that’s why only beta users are able to use the option for the moment.
WhatsApp has not provided any official statement t about when it is going to release this option for the stable version of the application. However, WhatsApp is testing this feature for quite a long time, consequently, we can anticipate that this option is going to roll out really soon.
